Wonderful Small Sterling Silver & Guilloche Enamel Compact - English, 1930
A really pretty small pocket sized compact with a diameter measuring just 1 5/8". The heavy piece of silver has a hinged lid covered in a delightful pale yellow guilloche enamel with a glossy patina showcasing the intricate engine turned design below.
The catch at the front works perfect and opens to reveal a mirror on the interior of the lid and a beautifully gilded interior which would open and close to allow the face powder to be dispensed through the holes, this bears a Patent Number; this is actually removable, and would have been replaced when required. Once removed the full English hallmark to the case can be seen for Birmingham 1930 together with the makers mark for Crisford and Norris.
