A fabulous large antique English sterling silver box with a riot of repousse or embossed decoration.
The hinged lid has a vacant central cartouche. There is a full English hallmark hidden amongst the decoration for the much sought-after Chester assay office and the date letter for 1900, very late Victorian. The makers initials are also present for the silversmith, George Nathan & Ridley Hayes.
Excellent condition, measuring 9 1/8" x 1 1/2" x 1" and weighing 142.2 Grams / 4.57 Troy Ounces.
