An absolutely fabulous antique tankard or cup, made from silver plate signed by the silversmith on the underside for "Field, 28 Cheapside, England".
This piece is lucky enough to have a Victorian English design registration diamond shaped lozenge for the date of August 30th 1875; these marks were reserved for special an noteworthy works of art.
Of course what makes this highly desirable and collectible is the handle in the form of a cat peering into the vessel, interior retains it's original gilding.
A wonderful piece in superb condition with a base diameter measuring 4 1/8", standing 5" tall to rim or 6" tall to top of cat handle.
