About as grand as they come, a typically top-notch Regency box dating to around 1820.
Made from exotic Rosewood, the box is bound around the edges with heavy brass edging and flush military / campaign style handles either side.
The front and top is beautifully decorated with foliate cut brass inlay, a showy and impressive box.
The interior of the box has been re-lined with an Italian hand marbled paper creating a fresh, clean finish ready for use. The interior of the lid has been re-fitted with the original gold embossed leather frame as it was still in lovely condition.
The box comes with two working keys, one for the main box and another for the drawer below.
Superb condition, measuring 14" x 9 3/4" x 5 1/2" tall.
