A fabulous find, this is a genuine antique Victorian English Toast with the shaped dividers spelling out TOAST. The most decorative example of this type that I have had with pierced or reticulated work and hand engraving.
The base is a scroll or "S" shape and in turn sits on four original ball feet. The underside is lucky enough to have an English design registration number for 1896 and a full makers mark for FREDERICK SIBRAY, J.F. HALL & Co. of Sheffield, together with EP for Electro-Plated.
This elegant piece would look as equally elegant on a desk top as a letter holder as it would on the breakfast table. Excellent condition, measuring 5 1/2" x 2 7/8" x 4" tall.
