It's quite a surprise that this set of six napkin rings were not made in sterling silver, given that they were paired with such a grand presentation box, in solid English Oak; rarely seen, even with sterling napkin rings.
The napkin rings are wonderful, solid, heavy and beautifully decorated, each with an engraved number from 1 to 6. The interior of the box is stunning in a jewel tone silk.
Dating to the late Victorian era, around 1890, they remain in excellent condition.
The case measures 6" x 5" x 2 1/2"; each napkin ring measuring 1 5/8" in diameter x 1 1/4 thick.
