A wonderful antique English inkwell, the base made from a solid piece of solid Oak carved in the form of a Horseshoe. The mount is made from silverplate, signed by the English silversmith, Daniel & Arter.
The horseshoe mount is also lucky enough to have an English design registration number, which allows us to date it fairly accurately to 1909, so Edwardian in era.
The crystal inkwell is mounted with a Jockey Cap and the glass without damage. A super piece in excellent condition, measuring 6" x 5 3/4".
