A quite wonderful tray, top quality by arguably the best silversmith of this era, Elkington and Co., with a full mark on the underside. Being Elkington, we are able to date it exactly, this piece with a letter G inside a square, for the year 1892, making this a true Victorian example.
The stunning shape, is filled with the most exquisite and intricate hand engraved design, the work involved in such an exquisite design is unbelievable.
The central engraved regal looking heraldic crest has a banner below with the Latin motto " Stemnata Qudi Faciunt " - Of What Values Are Pedigrees.
