Victorian Lyre Shaped Silver Plated Letter / Note Holder Reg. For 1882
Most unusual whether you use is as a toast rack, letter / business card holder or a napkin holder.
Made from silver plate and standing on four bun feet The integral tray is beautifully engraved with a very Victorian Fern decoration.
The Lyre shaped holder is crowned with a pierced or reticulated mount surrounding a central shield-shaped cartouche.
The tray has the highly coveted English registration kite mark, with this diamond mark allowing us to date it to January 23 1882, a true Victorian example.
Excellent condition, this super piece remains in excellent condition, the tray measuring 5 3/4" x 3 5/8" and standing 6 1/2" tall.
