The creme de la creme of desk-top accessories, this magnificent Victorian stationery cabinet is sure to delight and impress.
Beautifully shaped with the back and cover covered in shiny dark chocolate brown leather the front and and sloped lid have two wonderful large tablets of gorgeous antique tortoise shell or garland.
The edges are mounted with cast solid or sterling silver continuous beading shaped into acanthus leaves; both the front and lid also have a cast silver swag.
The lid is then decorated with glorious and intricate silver pique work, quite stunning. The silver is too small to have been hallmarked but guaranteed English sterling and dating to around 1880.
The interior is a joy, professionally re-finished in silk taffeta, clean and ready for use.
To be accurate, I will mention one tiny leaf loss above the opening, insignificant but noted for accuracy.
Superb condition withe shell polished to gleam. Measures 11" x 5 3/4" deep x 7 3/4" tall.
