This super Jigsaw puzzle comes in wooden box and would date to the late Victorian period, around 1870 / 1880. The sliding lid has a decoupaged picture of the puzzle and when opened reveals a paper paper map of the puzzle and all pieces present and correct.
Part of the "Kindergarten Maps" collection, it was clearly made for nanny to teach the little one's the geography of the country and in particular the placement of each county.
Remaining in very good condition, there are a few places where the little ones have scribbled .. mostly on the back of the map which has been taped ... otherwise in really good used condition with wear commensurate with age.
The box measures 10" x 7 3/4".
