For your consideration is this rare Antique 19th Century Milk Jug w/ Figural Cat Handle by DeFuisseaux Baudour. The hand painted tabby cat is brown with black stripes and exquisite detail. This jug or creamer was made by DeFuisseaux Baudour in Belgium, between 1849-1869. The creamy white body is ridges with hand painted gold trim work and a pastel blue striped base. The kitten hanging over the edge peering into the jug with hand painted green eyes, mouth and whiskers. The body of the cat is the handle and the exceptional hand painted stripes and white face bring a smile to any feline fancier. This jug is in wonderful condition, with only some mild wear to the gold trim on the rim of the jug, commensurate of age. Fully hallmarked in the base with the green DeFuisseaux Baudour mark and what appears to be crossed lines, arrows or swords impressed deeply into the base. Measuring 6-1/2" tall, 5" wide and 4" deep.
