A very hard to find and rare doll by the Armand Marseille model 700. Very unusual little one at just 10" tall. She is dressed so nice in antique sailor outfit - 3 pieces: Sailor hat, jacket and skirt in cotton.
She is a very nice example of the Am 700 model.
Her Bisque head is not perfect (see detail below) hence her lowered price. If perfect she would be in the range of $1800-1595. Her bisque head is clean and first out of the mold nice quality without any kiln flecks. Her facial painting is very nice-with single stroke brows, lushly painted eye lashes, softly blushed cheeks and that desirable pouty mouth. Her eyes are in the original setting, opening and closing with ease. Bilateral eyelid wax is intact.
Her 5 piece baby body is sturdy and of good quality. It has original finish. The are some minor cracks in the right leg below the knee. Body is appropriately strung and she can sit independently with ease.
Marks: Back of Head - 700, 4/0
Condition: 2 tight hairlines - top of forehead short, fine line - far from features and 1 hairline back of head - tight/fine line - rim of head - to end of neck
