Wonderful, wonderful little sailor pair from Kestner in a 10" size with all original factory outfits. The boy sailor is a 10" #143 Kestner in excellent condition. His bisque is perfect (has been lit) without hairlines, rubs, wig pulls or other damage. At some remote time his little brown eyes were set in the open position-the original pivots are present but the weight is absent. His features are super with feathered brows, tiny painted eyelashes top and bottom, chubby rosy cheeks and that impish mouth with the two tiny teeth. His wig is original thick blonde mohair, and still attached to the crown of the head.
He has an 11 piece body with ball joints. The finish is excellent, no repaints or repairs. All the red lines on hands and feet are intact. He is strung appropriately and holds all poses well.
His clothing is a factory original 2 piece sailor costume in white ribbed cotton with red collar and cuffs. The bodice has a little bronze star sewn on. He has long cotton antique socks(identical to his sister's) and a red trimmed beret. His shoes may be a replacement as they are made with oilcloth but may be original.
Marks: Made in Germany on head.
His little sister sailor, a Kestner #167 also 10" tall is so sweet looking! Her bisque head is perfect (has been lit) and is without hairlines, wig pulls, rubs or repairs. She has pretty bright blue eyes in original setting. They open and close smoothly. Eyelid wax is intact. She has very detailed painting for her small size with feathered brows, rows of tiny painted eyelashes, chubby rosy cheeks, and a sweet little smile with 4 tiny teeth. She has her original blonde mohair wig-thick with long curls and is still attached to her head at the crown. She has her plaster pate.
Her body is an 11 piece ball jointed body. It is in excellent condition with no repaints or repairs and all red lines on feet and hands intact. She is strung well and holds all poses.
Her clothing matches her brother sailor's exactly. Dress is of white ribbed cotton with red collar and cuffs. a matching bronze star is sewn into the bodice. A pretty white and red beret frames her face. She has long white socks and tiny little antique white shoes with buckle trim marked "0".
