Gouache on paper or paper on board, 6 1/8" by 7 3/8" and 1 3/8" frame, (14" by 15" overall as framed), signed at lower left "Bud" DUNCAN, no date but likely executed circa 1940. This is skillfully executed, in high key colors of pink, yellow, and violet shades. Overall clean with a 1" hairline diagonal surface abrasion in sky at center, and a puncture from the reverse through to the drawing at lower right, but this is lost in the busy sage clumps and is not immediately obvious. It could no doubt be pushed back and would be minimized nicely. Frame has some age, probably 40's. SEE HUNDREDS OF OTHER WORKS INCLUDING CALIFORNIA PLEIN AIR and other works of the Southwest.
