Monochromatic landscape on masonite, 20" by 16" and 4" wide frame/liner, with wagon and sod or adobe structures, signed at lower right "G. NIBLETT". This is a work by noted western American artist GARY NIBLETT, listed in Samuels' book "Contemporary Western Artists". Niblett has been a member of the prestigious Cowboy Artists of America since 1976. HIs works have sold into the tens of thousands at major auctions of western art. This is likely a relatively earlier work, before he signed with the "CA" ("Cowboy Artists") monogram. Condition is excellent. Judging from the frame, I'd guess this would date to about the late 1960's or early 1970's. Niblett was born in Carlsbad, New Mexico. He worked commercially before striking out on his own as a painter of western American genre.
