This is a sizable watercolor by artist EUNICE YOUNG, who, according to the listing in Hughes' "Artists in California", was a pupil of the noted early San Diego artist Charles Arthur Fries (1854-1940) and Ammi Merchant Farnham (1846-1922). She was born in Michigan and was in California by the year 1888. Young was associated with Santa Barbara and Los Angeles later in life as well as the San Diego area. This watercolor measures 22 5/8" by 17 1/2" (32" by 26 1/2" as framed). Condition: most notably there's a 3 1/2" by 1 1/2" browned area at extreme lower left--possible moisture damage. There are about ten small-to-tiny areas of surface paper loss (showing in images as white spots)---these could be touched up by an artist. Otherwise condition is good. I believe this painting would appeal to the specialized collector of early San Diego artists. SEE HUNDREDS OF OTHER WORKS NOW IN MY RUBY LANE SHOP. .
