An impressive work, oil on canvas laid on Masonite, circa 1950, featuring a twilight view of the Seine, bridge, Notre Dame, and numerous pedestrians and vehicles, all in an impressionistic hand, measuring 23" by 31" (31" by 39" in attractive period distressed style white frame). The painting is signed at lower left with what appears as "Fred" or possibly "Freda" or "Frieda" and after that "de XXX". I found a similar painting online by obviously the same artist, said to be by listed a artist, "Fred de Bock", but I am not convinced of this attribution. Regardless of authorship, the painting is beautifully executed and obviously by a talented artist. It could benefit from a cleaning. There is a small white mark at center, otherwise no significant issues.
