Thomas McKnight's "surreal fantasy" style is immediately recognizable by today's collectors of contemporary prints. His colorful images, some thirty years out now from their introduction, remain popular additions to today's interiors. This scene of a palmy coast with panoramic patio surveying the curving beach is typical imagery from the rather fertile imagination of the Kansas-born artist. The title of this piece is "St. Barts" (a small very popular Caribbean island nor far from St. Maarten, a favorite of the affluent crowd) and it was issued 1987-88. The piece is numbered in pencil at lower left 123/200. The print is exceptionally fresh and there is no foxing. The silvery frame exhibits some wear---loss of the silvery finish, and small corner edge chip. The piece is framed with Plexiglas which will make for safe and relatively inexpensive shipping, but there are some scratches in that so you may wish to replace with fresh Plexi or glass (but glass would make it very heavy). Measurements are 18 1/2" by 19 3/4" inside the mat and 30 1/2" by 31 3/4" framed. Allow for reflections and the aforementioned scratches in the Plexi (such as in area above signature, etc.)..
