This is a late 1950's reprint (NOT considered a mere reproduction) of the classic original 1947 poster by poster artist PAUL BAUDOUIN (1921-1971). The original 1947 version is quite rarely seen, and even the 1950's version is hardly common. Careful comparison and study shows that there are slight differences among them, in color, type face of "Air France", and the points of the lit streets. In the early 1960's a third version was created, with a jet instead of the piston engine plane, and other small changes such as the typeface used for "AIR FRANCE". This example has "169-P-7-57 PRINTED IN FRANCE" in the margin at lower right and "LA GENERALE PUBLICITE" at lower left margin. The poster measures 39 1/4" by 24 3/8". The colors are not faded, and the pieces is generally clean and very presentable, though I note condition issues in the margins: discolorations/stains (especially at lower right corner), small tears and edge nicks and stubs (small paper losses at very edge), and light creases. The flaws are all in the margins. View photos carefully. Currently safely housed in a light poster protector (and all photos were taken with the poster inside that protective enclosure, so allow for reflections and surface scratches on the enclosure itself). Could possibly be shipped rolled to save on shipping. Contact me to discuss.
