A truly beautiful circa 1890 print of elegant Parisians strolling past and perusing the famous Bouquiniste bookstalls along the banks of the Seine River, not signed in plate nor in pencil but certainly by a listed or even important and well-known artist. To date, reverse image searches and other internet research have, frustratingly, not revealed the identity of that artist. There are no watermarks. The print measures 16" by 12" inside the existing mat, the sheet 19 1/2" by 15" (and 20 1/2" by 16 3/4" in present black strip frame). A great image for the collector of Belle Epoque and 19th century Paris. Margins that were hidden under mat are lighter in color but the paper toning is not really noticeable. Allow for reflections in a few images.
