Large 1980's screenprint poster, titled "Dakota", the subject a young woman, after a painting by famous twentieth century artist Patrick Nagel (1945-1984). A very decorative piece for your mid-century or modern interior. Nagel's original authenticated works have exceeded $50,000 at auctions. His paintings and prints featuring glamorous, attractive young women with heavy makeup have virtually become pop culture symbols of the 1980's. The piece as framed measures 42 1/2" by 31", shipped without glass. At actual cost, I could have this covered in 1/8" Plexi for protection and safety in shipping. The serigraph, often referred to in Nagel's oeuvre as "CN14", measures 35" by 23 3/8" inside the mat. The work, laid down permanently on foamboard as was often the custom during that period, has acquired a small scratch in the field at far left (see photos). The hairline scratch is about 4" total but only about 1" of that is visible without intense study of the area. And only a small portion of that is dig-like; a careful application of matching watercolor would hide it. The original pinkish-lavender frame has some light wear.
