A fine old etching of a windmill in a low country landscape, signed in pencil and in the plate with a signature that appears to be "J Harvey" or similar. The work is numbered 23/25 at lower right margin. The name being common, there are a number of listed artists that might correspond to this. The numbering suggests a 20th century origin, numbered prints being far less common in the 19th century. The work takes from Rembrandt or a host of other Dutch artists such as van Ostade, who depicted the Low Countries landscape in etching. The measurements are 7 1/8" by 8 3/4" inside the mat and 17" by 19" as simply framed. Condition appears excellent. There is some dirt on the inside of the glass and note there are several reflections in the glass.
