An example of art of the Spanish Colonial "Cuzco School" of Peru: a meticulously hand painted painting on canvas, likely of San Miguel Archangel, 20" by 16" (24 1/2" by 20 1/2" framed). Similar paintings are created today in Central and South American countries, for the tourist trade; this particular example seems to have some age to it, perhaps having been created in the 1960's or 1970's. The work has shrunk in a bit on the stretcher, and there are a few scrapes and indentations, all adding to the distressed look. The frame could be circa 1950's or 1960's. The piece is an affordable way to create the "Santa Fe" Spanish Colonial look in your home setting.
