A poetic and dreamy watercolor titled on reverse "The Tail of St. John's Lake", (and original 32 Pound Sterling price) signed at lower right with what appears as "H Vaux" or similar. The mid 20th century watercolor is by a masterful hand. Painted in muted colors, it measures 7 1/4" by 12 1/2" inside the present mat, and 14 1/2" by 19 1/2" in modern simple framing. Could be shipped without the non-glare glass and frame. Further research could result in positive identification of the artist. The colors and technique remind of the great English watercolorist Edward Seago.
