Etching with hand color, 4 1/4" by 3 3/8" inside the inner gold fillet, 13" by 12 1/4" as framed, unsigned, by important French 20th century artist MARIE LAURENCIN (1885-1956). From having checked the 1981 catalog raisonne by Daniel Marchesseau, I have determined that the title of this work is "Fillette aux Yeux Vertes" ("Young Girl with Green Eyes", although a number of other titles are in common usage for this popular print). Laurencin is a major French 20th century artist, and her original paintings sell for tens of thousands of dollars at major auctions. She was also an active lithographer and etcher. Her subject matter of choice is generally women, or young women, depicted in a mannered, immediately recognizable style. Laurencin's works are popular in Japan. Condition appears excellent (not examined out of frame). Allow for reflections in a few images.
