Large fine English antique mid 19th century print of mounted riders in traditional red coats, and their trained hounds, in an extensive landscape, the title "John Josselyn Esq. and the Suffolk Hounds", engraved by Charles Mottram (1807-1876) after the painting by Edward Robert Smythe (1810-1899). The print was published circa 1865 by Henry Graves & Co. of Pall Mall. The print is in good displayable condition, though not perfect. I note a small blotchy area (light spots at upper right corner) and slight brownish show-through in the margins, perhaps from old adhesives (not examined out of frame). From normal viewing distance in your traditional style interior setting, this should not be of any significance. The hand coloring is beautiful and not faded. Measurements as framed are 21 1/4" by 34 3/4". Affixed on the reverse in a see-through pouch is a charming hand-written 1949 letter on stationery of the Sheraton Hotel Boston, as the print was gifted.
