An English early to mid nineteenth century watercolor, featuring a house or cottage with cross-hatched windows, an arch at left with two small figures nearby, and tree at right. The work is apparently unsigned. The hand is a little stiff and primitive, but the work is antique and charming. Someone spent a considerable sum on the pleasing newish gold frame and hand-drawn "French mat" with lines and glittery goldish foil border. Frame is in generally excellent condition, just a small dig at lower left. Measurements are 7 1/2" by 11 1/2" (14 1/2" by 18 1/2" framed).
