Oil on canvasboard painting of an ice cream cone suspended mysteriously in a holder against a white background, signed at lower right "MZ" (or, a conjoined "MR"), and dated there '02. The work, 10" by 8" in a narrow black metal frame, is very nicely painted in a style which greatly resembles that of the major American Pop Art painter Wayne Thiebaud (1920-). Thiebaud of course is known for his colorful works featuring candies, cupcakes and pies, lipsticks, colored alphabet blocks, and ice cream cones. His imagery is enormously popular, resulting in his original paintings achieving into the millions of dollars at major New York auctions of contemporary art. This painting is available at a considerably more reasonable price. It is in excellent condition.
