An example of the wildly popular art of artist EDNA HIBEL (1917-2014), internationally known for her art in many media, the themes usually promoting peace, or exploring universal themes such as motherhood. This lithograph print is signed in pencil by the artist at lower right and is numbered at lower left. I believe the title is "Francesca", dating from 1979. Hibel was born in Boston and spent much of her life in South Florida, where a museum of her works stands on the campus of Florida Atlantic University. She was very prolific, and lithography and ceramic pieces bearing her images have been widely distributed. This print measures 16 3/4" by 14 1/2" inside the inner fillet and linen mat; 25 3/4" by 23 1/4" as framed. Frame has some wear in a number of areas. The print itself is immaculate.
