This is an original hand-colored, 19th century lithograph print by the iconic American ornithologist and naturalist artist JOHN J. AUDUBON (1785-1851), Dimensions are 19 1/2" by 12" inside the mat (28" by 20 1/2" as framed). The title is "Blue-grey Fly-catcher" and this is Plate number 84 in a long series of bird prints. The bird is quite commonly found around the New Orleans area and also in the eastern part of the United States. I've not examined this out of the frame. The paper has browned and there is considerable foxing throughout the field and darker discolorations smaller than the diameter of a pencil eraser at lower right. Photos were taken through detail-dulling non-glare style glass which should be discarded.
