A small painting in white, black, blue and brown, the subject the Navajo reservation in winter, a central figure clad in decorative blanket leading a horse with his load in shallow snow, his destination apparently a welcoming hogan with smoke coming from the central chimney. The little work (5" by 7", unframed), is painted on a mid-century California Canvas Corp./Torrance CA canvasboard, is signed at lower right "W.P.". I am not familiar with this artist, whose work possesses a primitive charm.
