For your traditional interior, this is a decorative engraving published in London in 1822 by Richard Laurie, titled "Southwark Iron Bridge", with hand coloring. This was for its time an engineering feat. The measurements are 12" by 17 3/4" inside the mat, and 20" by 26" framed. The mat has hand drawn and ornate decorated lines ("French mat") but has been exposed to moisture in the past and as a consequence is unacceptably rumpled at bottom. It seems worthy of being retained, though; a new overmat placed tightly against those lines would crop out most of the damaged areas. The print itself appears not affected by the old moisture (not examined out of frame).
