Large watercolor painting on heavy paper, the subject two young boys, probably brothers, one carrying what could be a shoeshine base, in a classic Central American landscape complete with towering volcano and colonial church, 28 1/2" by 21 1/2" inside the mat, 34" by 26 1/2" inexpensively framed, signed illegibly and dated 1986. The scene greatly resembles the landscape of Antigua, Guatemala; Antigua is a picturesque much-visited town in a very scenic setting beneath a towering conical volcano. The idealized setting could just as well be any number of higher altitude locales from southern Mexico through Central America through the western portion of South America, including Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia. The artist captured the landscape very nicely, and artistically placed the red car at the boys' feet. Condition is excellent. There is no glass, facilitating shipping.
