A familiar scene that brings back fond memories to travelers who have experienced the pleasures of browsing the famous bouquiniste bookstalls along the Seine River in the heart of Paris---Notre Dame dominates the background, while a lively scene transpires, with a yellow-shirted artist and his easel at left, and a mother and her impatient young child at right, leafy trees framing the activity. The work is on canvas and measures 9" by 10 3/4" (15" by 16 1/2" framed). The artist, Andre Rousseau, signed his name at bottom right. The painting dates to the 1960's. There is a period framer's sticker from Morristown, New Jersey. Condition is very clean, ready for the wall.
