Impressively large watercolor landscape painting, likely a scene of northern Florida, 20" by 27" (29" by 37" as framed), signed at lower left by well known Florida artist JOEL REICHARD (1909-1986). The artist was born in Bourbon, Indiana, and received art training at the John Herron Art Institute and at the Art Institute of Chicago. By 1967 he was being called "The Dean of Marion County (Ocala, Florida area) artists". Most of his output dealt with scenes of the Sunshine State. Some images were made into prints. This work came from the Orange County, California home of people who were originally from the Southeast. A painting by Florida artist Emmett Fritz, and a South Carolina watercolor, came from the home. This scene is not titled but almost certainly is of the part of North Florida well known to Reichard. Condition is excellent, the colors sharp.
