Original 1956 Mourlot-printed lithograph poster after a 1936 charcoal drawing by the famed French 20th century artist HENRI MATISSE (1869-1954), printed for a mid 1950's exhibition at Galerie Berggruen at 70, Rue de L'Universite in Paris. The unframed poster measures 25 3/4" by 17 1/4". It is in good clean condition, the blue color not faded, though I note the presence some commonly encountered handling creases, the sharpest of them to the left of the nude's head and at the upper corners. Matisse is one of the century's most revered and beloved artists, and he needs little introduction. Once properly framed, perhaps in a silvery frame, this will make for a fine addition to your mid century interior. Shipping figures are based on posting this in a plastic hard tube.
