This is a whimsical work by a woman artist from the west side of Los Angeles, PAT KENNERTY. Paintings by Kennerty often show little girls, flowers, and whimsical subject matter, but she did execute landscapes as well. She is listed in Davenport's art reference but not yet on askart I see. Over the years I have seen a number of works painted by her from her Brentwood studio. This work is an oil on canvasboard, measuring 15" by 5", (22" by 12" framed) and it is signed at lower right with the artist's typical all capital letter signature. There's a label on the frame with her 878 S. Bundy Drive address, which, interestingly, is directly across the street from the infamous 875 S. Bundy Drive address at which the O.J. Simpson/Nicole Brown Simpson murder event took place. I'd guess the work dates to the 70's, possibly 80's. Condition is excellent.
