An antique drawing in ink and watercolor, 4 1/4" by 6 3/4" inside the mat, 11" by 13 1/4" framed, unsigned, featuring a rolling landscape with stand of trees and tiny figures. At left a full hay wagon is pulled by an animal; at center a couple walks together; at right, three others take a break and chat. This could possibly be an American drawing after an English etching. The materials and framing look American, the scene less so. What is certain is that this is an original work and not a print, and it likely dates to about 1850. The drawing has normal aging of the paper. The frame is separating at top right corner and there are small losses elsewhere. Note the quaint embossed old Victorian paper as seen from the reverse side.
