A red-headed woman in a dark brown dress is fingering the leaves of a nearby tree; lettering in gold, background in gray, 20" by 13 1/2" inside the double mat, with approximately 3/4" on a side extra on the vertical dimension and 1/2" on a side on the horizontal dimension, under the mat, the work laid to foamboard and with 3 vertical folds and 1 horizontal fold. This circa 1918 work is by artist Pierre Ori. I believe it was likely an insert in an Italian periodical of the period known as Emporium----though, online information is lacking. In any event, the work is attractive in its modern day silvery framing with rounded corners, and highly decorative and collectible. As framed, 27 1/2" by 20 3/4".
