For the natural history aficionado or decorator, a PAIR of original finely detailed drawings in watercolor and ink, one titled faintly in pencil "Scorpions", the other featuring other unidentified but quite exotic-looking creatures with many legs. Each drawing is 8 1/4" by 6 1/2" inside the mat, and the works are identically framed (13" by 11"). The works are clearly of English origin----at upper left corner each has a blind stamp on which a crown is vaguely discernible, and there is a London framer's label. Both drawings have some creasing, especially at upper right on the non-scorpion piece, and some paper puckering at left, but, the works being 150 or so years old, these are perfectly allowable faults. The anonymous artist invested a tremendous amount of time in creating these little gems, hopefully with the aid of a magnifying glass. Guaranteed to be drawings, and not prints.
