A fine example of art from Canada's far north, a mixed media drawing (17 1/2" by 24 1/2", 23 1/4" by 30 1/4" framed), signed at lower right and dated there 1986 by noted Inuit artist PETER RAGEE (1955-). A native man seems to be pulling on a reindeer, stylized land (ice pack?) below. The medium appears to be some kind of crayon, with some salmon rose ink outlines. Condition is excellent save for some slight rippling of the paper at top. The work will be sent without the present glass, which is chipped and compromised. Ragee is the son of a talented native artist, who was a carver. Peter's work is a combination of the spiritual and contemporary observations of the artist. He has exhibited around the Canadian Arctic, at Iqaluit, Inuvik, and Rankin Inlet.
