Watercolor on paper painting of a traditional Bermuda home, luxuriant tropical vegetation partially obscuring it, 9 3/4" by 14" (19" by 24 1/2" as framed), signed at lower left in pencil by artist Charles G. Long. There is no date but I would imagine this pre-dates 1940. The handwriting suggests that the artist was English or Bermudian. The colors are unusually fresh and rich; obviously this has escaped exposure to ultraviolet light. I am unable to locate biographical information on this very talented watercolor artist. The old French mat has some browning especially at top center, where the two old acidic wooden boards that back the piece meet. Allow for some reflections at top. See my other Bermuda art pieces.
