Circa mid 20th century retablo, hand carved gessoed wood, in a tradition going back to the 16th or 17th century, 12" by 7 3/4". The work is titled "San Lucas" on the reverse, and the words "Mantz Fini" appear there as well as "Mex.". I think this might date to the 1960's or so. It might have been placed in a church, or, might have been made for the tourist trade....hard to tell. There is convincing wear, some loss of gesso, etc., only adding to the vintage appeal.
