Watercolor on paper painting, possibly depicting the distinctive geological formation known as Morro Rock, in Morro Bay, California, north of Los Angeles on the scenic central coast of the state. The work is unsigned and likely dates to the late 20th century. Condition is fresh, the colors true and not faded. Framing is a beige metal (slight wear), the pink-tinged mat complementing the sunset colors in the painting. The overhanging branch is sensitively painted by a skilled hand. Overall this is a beautifully painted watercolor. Measurements 9 3/4" by 13 1/2" inside the mat, 16" by 20" framed.
