Nicely framed December 15, 1950 original check drawn on Bank of America, Hollywood, California, signed in ink by famed American actress and singer DORIS DAY, for "Publicity", made to (apparently) her publicity agent at the time, Bob Stern. The canceled check is framed below a classic black and white photo of Doris. Of course, Doris Day needs little introduction. She began her show business career as far back as 1939 while still in her teens. By 1945 she had released "Sentimental Journey", and her career was launched. The fame of the iconic blonde actress peaked in the 1950's and 1960's. She completed 39 films in her career and over 650 recordings were made, most with Columbia Records, between the late 1940's and late 1960's. As of 2012 she is said to have been considered among the top ten box office performers of all time. Today, in her early 90's, the actress lives quietly in Carmel Valley, California, where she is known as an animal rights activist. This check, nicely mounted with multiple overlapping mats, is a fine piece of memorabilia for the Doris Day fan. It is in excellent condition. The imitation wood laminate frame (30" by 24") has some scratches and minor losses that could likely be touched up. The elaborate multiple mat presentation remains in excellent condition. Allow for reflections in the glass.
