Here is a prize for the collector of Californiana----an idealized view of a mission in the golden days of yore, painted around 1935 I would guess. There is a signature at lower right that appears as Y. Arnold or similar. The painting is on a coarse weave canvas, almost like burlap or jute, laid down on an old board, on the back of which is a color print of a landscape. Size is 30" by 24" including the simple narrow wood strip frame. The painting surface is not varnished at all, but I'm not sure that it SHOULD be varnished, as it works well as-is. You might want to invest in a more impressive frame. This would work well in any Southwestern-themed interior.
