This is an offset lithograph, pictured in simple metal frame, which is available with it at no extra cost, though print will be shipped in tube), 38" by 24", printed by Petersburg Press in England in a limited edition of 1000 copies on heavy stock glossy paper. The poster itself is now collectable and sought after because of the limited edition. Hockney created it for the Met's opera performance in 1981. Of course Hockney, considered one of the very most important 20th century pop artists, needs little introduction. His original works sell for millions of dollars and are held at major institutions around the globe. He is a designer, printmaker, stage designer, photographer and sculptor. CONDITION: There is a curving sharp scratch at center right (see close-up images). However, framed and on the wall, this flaw is not immediately noticeable. If you like the image and find it interesting to own a work of which only 1,000 were printed, then consider this item. As the glass is already broken in the corner, this will be removed from the framing and safely shipped in a rolled tube. Allow for reflections in some images. .
