PAIR of mixed media (gouache and newspaper strips affixed to paper) paintings of big eyed children in the popular mid century style, each measuring 26 3/4" by 21 3/4" in matching frames, no glass, the image of the girl signed at lower right and dated, "Paris 1966", the other apparently not signed but also dated Paris 1966. Etienne was a prolific artist who moved to Hollywood, California. His works featuring the big eye children, a few landscapes, and nudes, are often encountered in Southern California. These works are in fair to good condition, with paper browning after nearly 50 years, and some paper buckling, a minor water drop stain, and the boy image appears to have some newspaper missing.
