Original etching on paper, 7 1/2" by 11 1/2" inside the mat (14 3/4" by 18 3/4" framed), signed in pencil in the nearby lower right margin by the noted American printmaker LUIGI LUCIONI (1900-1988). **ONE OF SEVERAL PRINTS BY THE ARTIST IN MY SHOP**, this is no doubt a Vermont landscape scene, as Lucioni's prints largely deal with the classic mountain scenery, barns and farms of that rural state. The title is "Tree in Fairway", and this was issued for the Associated American Artists in an edition of 250. The work appears to be in its original framing, the AAA label as originally placed on the reverse backing paper. Condition is as often seen, with general even age oxidation/browning but no foxing spots. Lucioni's paintings in casein and oil bring significant sums at major auctions of American art, and his prints, though numerous, are eagerly sought after by collectors, as he was clearly a master of the etching. See the net for much more information on the artist's life. .
